Gym, Day 01

Posted by Bill Cammack On December - 26 - 2008

Most likely due to all the beer I drank, it seems that my base weight has gone up to 162 lbs. I’m defining “base weight” as how much I weigh without working out at all for a long period.

This may or may not be the truth, since I weighed myself on an electronic scale that I’ve never been on before, so I don’t necessarily trust its calibration. Anyway… The point is that my base weight used to be around 150 lbs and the heaviest I could ever get was ~161. Once I hit that weight, no matter how many calories I consumed in a day, I’d sweat them all off and never got heavier than that.

For that reason, this workout campaign is going to be interesting. I walked in the door heavier than I’ve ever been. I also pushed MINIMAL weight, compared to what I used to do when I was working out a lot. That means that I can easily put on another 10 lbs of muscle, but the question will be whether I remain in the low 160s and burn/sweat off the excess weight or head into the (gasp) 170s for the first time in my entire life.

My guess right now is that I’m going to peak @ 175. We’ll see. :)
