Well, I don't have to speak for hB, because this isn't fiction. :)

Of course I've had buyer's remorse. That's not the problem. The PROBLEM is when people attempt to rewrite their own past because NOW they feel differently about what they did. The facts remain. You did what you did. You did it with whomever you did it with. You did it for whatever reasons you did it at that time.

The point I was making was at the time that these things happened to me, I verbally ROASTED those chicks, because as far as I understood at the time, they were the same person drunk as they were sober. Therefore, it was retarded to me for them to be saying what they were saying. Once I realized that people can do things while they're drunk that they're embarrassed about when they're sober, I quit being upset at chicks that have alternate personalities under those conditions. I recognized that I needed to have two different relationships to them, and that works perfectly for me.

It's like for a guy to say after the fact "Damn... I would have NEVER hit that sober! She's not my type! She's busted!" Sorry... That doesn't change the facts that a) you drank, b) you liked how she looked or how her body felt while you were drunk, and c) you did what you did. You can't get credit NOW for having good taste in women by trying to <a href="http://billcammack.com/2008/09/05/alcohol-is-no-excuse/" rel="nofollow">use alcohol as an excuse</a>.

I agree that a lot of this is based on the expendable nature of people in NYC being that there are so many of us here and so many people moving in, moving out and visiting. You get to do whatever you want, because if some chick never talks to you again, so what? There are a couple million more around here somewhere.

Good point about rep as well. That's a really interesting topic. People who do their "whoring" inside the fishbowl take a lot more heat than people that do it outside of a fixed group of people. It's the exact same action, but the reverberations from people repeating the situation to other people and bringing it up at parties, etc make it a tougher situation... Which, of course leads to more behind-the-scenes action and clandestine behavior. It's really kind of funny how being involved in something that gives you a greater ability to broadcast your actions, whereabouts and relationships tends to result in people broadcasting even LESS of what's really going on than if they weren't connected to this network...

I like to ask chicks that fall for the <a href="http://billcammack.com/2008/07/07/lindsey-bill-does-he-want-to-be-friends/" rel="nofollow">"I want to be your friend"</a> trick exactly WHY this guy wants to be friends with YOU? If they can get past their delusions of grandeur, they'll realize that he's really only talking to them so he can get on, because he already HAS a bunch of friends.

Basically, people want to be friends with each other because they have things in common and they can see themselves having a good time with you in the future. If the only think a chick can figure out that she has in common with a guy is that she has T&A and he LIKES T&A, that's not a friendship. Beleedat! :D

Is it Shark Week on Discovery Channel already?!

All kidding aside, hypothetical Bill (hB) can't honestly say that <b>he's</b> never had buyers remorse, right?

You're spot on from-the-trenches observation about the game becoming intensely predatory is, er, spot on. I think there's a lot of behavior that's allowed in NYC that wouldn't pass for sh*t anywhere else. I think much of it is owed to the large transient population. To put that in more natural terms, there's always plenty of fresh meat so people get to move on quickly without repercussion. Also, ya' cain't spread a bad rep if there's no permanence in the grape vine.

Recently I described NYC as being like Disney World for adults and the young woman I was with corrected me and said that was Vegas... I say NYC is more hedonistic and folks are playing where they work, not on a time limited, wallet draining, vacation. To reframe: NYC is more like where Peter Pan comes from, "kids" running amok having adventures, going to sleep, and waking up to do it all over again like it's a brand every day. Plus, when they finally <b>do</b> go back home, no one is ever the wiser. I don't think everyone shows up with that intent, but...
