Bill on Coaching
Coaching
I want to talk about coaching. I’ve been watching “Made” for the last couple of weeks, my friend Hitha Prabhakar’s been on “Made”. She was the first Indian-American ‘Made Coach’ in history… Anyway…
I find it interesting how there’s kind of a thread that goes through these shows.. And I understand that they’re very produced and they make these stories up themselves, but I find it really interesting how you want to be something, and you step to somebody who is already what you want to be… and then when they tell you what you have to do to be who they are, you don’t want to listen.
See? You don’t want to do what they’re telling you to do because you think you know what you’re doing. If you knew what you were doing, you wouldn’t have needed a coach. See what I’m saying? So.. I find this very interesting.
When somebody wants to coach you, either listen to what they have to say, or skip it entirely. Don’t be involved. Don’t try to be what they already are.
That’s your tip for the day.
Peace.
