I tend to take a lot of pictures with a lot of different women.

One of the funny side effects of that is that guys assume that the women are random.

In fact, I’m in very few pictures with women I don’t personally know.

I just happen to know a lot of women.

This is what happens when you have 2,800 Facebook Friends… Statistically, that means that there are approximately 1,400 women that count as actual friends of mine, acquaintances, women I’ve spent time with, women I was introduced to by mutual friends, and women that are fans of mine. For some people, this was a surprise. I suppose they never read my 2008 article “Political Sex Scandals”.

After fast-forwarding through 93% of this week’s tRHoNYC, I stumbled upon a fascinating conversation.

Ramona decided that she wanted to confront Jill about something.

I found this interesting because Jill had disappeared for several episodes on some kind of trip, and when she returned, it seems that she’s shed about half of her bodyweight. I completely didn’t recognize her and thought they had added a new Housewife.

Upon her return, she stated that she’s turned over a new leaf and isn’t interested in gossip anymore. From what they showed of her since then, she’s not only stuck to that, but she used to get this anxious look on her face, like she couldn’t wait to get involved in the beef and get her licks in, but now, she seems to be listening to what’s going on without actually being invested in it. Reader “Susan” left quite a lengthy comment on my post Women’s Guide To NYC Dating, so I decided to make my response to her its own post so we can all benefit from this discussion…

Hi Bill, well thanks for the long response.

Just to let you know, back in about February a few months after having moved (as a life-long new Yorker) to the midwest, I met a guy. Actually, I met a couple guys. Hell, I could have met more had I went out on the town a fraction as often as I did in New York. But the one I’m dating is a keeper. We quickly became boyfriend-girlfriend, and it’s WONDERFUL. Hell, I need to start practicing yoga to limber up. Every moment is wonderful, and we both acknowledge it. Easily. I trust, I give, I need, and I am trusted, given to and needed. We think it’s because we have ‘perspective’ as he says. He’s not that experienced, nor am I, even at my age. And this is the one thing I’ve always been looking for in a person. It’s hard to even explain, if I had more time…

I’m very happy for you, Susan. :) I hope you get to enjoy your relationship with this fellow for a very long time.

As some of y’all know, I’ve been focusing on my music thing for around a year now.

I’ve been MAKING and recording music forever, already.. It’s just that with the new tools that are available, I decided I wanted to learn something new and get really good at mixing music.

I’ve done that now. I’m really, REALLY good at mixing. I know exactly what I’m doing. I’m about 1,000 times better at mixing than I was at video editing when I began my professional career by joining Diversion Pictures back in the day.

Actually, I should say “When I began my COMMERCIALLY-PROFESSIONAL career, because I did professional work for individuals and companies before I started doing videos for Diversion that played on MTV, VH1, BET, etc.

So.. Something’s been bothering me for several months now, and I wasn’t able to put my finger on it until today. Until about 20 minutes ago. I had the elements of the understanding, but it hadn’t become a concrete concept for me. Read the rest of this entry »
