Bill Cammack to Team SCRIGGITY!
Effective immediately, Bill Cammack joins Drew Olanoff as a member of “Team SCRIGGITY“. :D
When I first got involved in videoblogging, a little over a year ago, I used to troll blip.tv’s recent uploads to get ideas about shows that I thought were good. One of those shows was Jonny Goldstein’s “Reinventing Television” (reinventingtv.phovi.com). I got involved, immediately. => Text chat from Reinventing Television Episode 2 (October 12, 2006).

Another show that I thought was cool, interesting and innovative was scriggity (scriggity.com). Eventually, I met and hung out with Drew @ several NYC events, including Videoblogger Meetups, Network2 get-togethers and PodCampNYC.
Meanwhile, I was gearing up to do my own show… I mean, I *HAVE* my own “show” already, but it’s more like a feed of stuff that I do day in and day out. It’s not a actual show, but rather an indication of what it’s like to be me on any given day. So… I was gearing up to do an actual show and started filming episodes of “The Lab”.
What I found out, and outlined in my notes about the project… was that while I enjoy MAKING shows, I don’t enjoy the rest of the process. The “paperwork”, as I call it of all the stuff that has to be done PAST production and post.
Interestingly enough, Drew decided that he doesn’t want to edit. :D We chatted this morning, and I’ve joined “Team SCRIGGITY”, and we’re looking forward to big things. :D I always enjoy doing projects with friends, and I’ve been a fan of Drew’s concepts for a long time now. Thanks to Drew for the nod, and…
it’s ON!!! and it happens to be POPPIN’!!! :D

Pulver / Network2 @ Proof
Yesterday, Jeff Pulver & Chris Brogan hosted a Network2 get-together @ Proof in NYC.
I saw David Kowarsky for the first time since the last Network2 event at Proof I attended. He was telling me about VON:San Jose and his future videoblogging plans. I also saw Bre, Kendall, Mike & Dina, Grace, Eric, Eric, and met Matt & Dave from G14productions.
Here are some flickr pix from the evening:

The NY Video 2.0 Group
Last night, I attended the NY Video 2.0 Group “meetup”. The focus of the event wasn’t the _making_ of digital video, but the business surrounding putting video on the internet. I found the presentations to be interesting as well as informative.
The host was Yaron Samid, Founder, Pando.com.
The presenters were (in order of appearance):
1. dotSUB – Michael Smolens, Founder
http://www.dotsub.com
2. Network2 – Jeff Pulver, Founder (www.pulver.com)
3. NBBC.com – Marc Siry, VP, NBC Universal
http://www.nbbc.com
4. YouAre.TV – David Dundas, Founder
http://www.youare.tv
5. Bolt.com – Aaron Cohen, Founder
Also, Chris Brogan, Community Developer for network2.tv had special information for the NY Video 2.0 Group about the upcoming Video on the Net conference in San Jose, California.
It was interesting to hear about “the shell” surrounding creativity, or perhaps the vehicles by which content is presented to the world via the internet and hopefully monetized all the way back down to the content creator. I think I can say that I felt “behind the scenes”. That’s an odd way for me to feel, since as an editor, I’m _always_ “behind the scenes”, but they’re behind MY scenes, and I know exactly what’s going on and what I’m doing.
To the average person, sites, applications and widgets just magically appear one day and get reported on in a blog or a show. Now I know where these things come from. People “moonlight”, creating businesses during their time off from their day jobs. People solicit venture capital (VC). People count on what they learned in their last business to make decisions for their new startups.
If any of those topics are interest to you, the videos I made from the meeting are available on Network2.tv, tagged “nyvideo20group” [link]

Rox interview on PulverTV’s “Focus”
So I’m browsing around my uni-directional friends list on ems.blip.tv, and I decided to check out David Kowarsky’s show, PulverTV’s “Focus”.
David reviews internet shows in his video blog. I had seen an episode of “Focus” while browsing blip.tv’s list of recent (at the time) uploads. Some time later, I met David @ the Pulver / Network2 party I blogged a while back.
Once I realized I had seen David’s show, I just HAAAAAAD to find out from him why he pulled out a watergun uzi, and when he squeezed the trigger, they only used the sound effect of one bullet coming out! :D He responded that it was a Mac-11, and not an uzi… which, of course….. cleared everything up for me! :D
Anyway…
So I’m looking at the list of “Focus” shows, and I see an episode with Roxanne Darling from BeachWalks.TV. I’m always interested in what Rox has to say, so I decided to check it out.
About the third thing she mentions in the interview is that she and I did a beachwalks episode together, and I see b-roll that we shot for the intro and a section of us chatting. :) Our BeachWalk #258 was posted November 9th and Rox said on “Focus” that we did it ‘yesterday’, and the Pulver party was on November 15th. Assuming David actually watched that episode, either because he actually watches BeachWalks With Rox or just preparing for his show, that means that he saw an episode of mine the same way I had seen an episode of his. :)
The term “small world” applies here, somewhere. :D

Pulver / Network2 party
